For our ambitious hunters, we also offer a 6 Day Mountain Lion Hunt (2 Cat limit). Both options for Mountain Lion Hunts include meals and lodging.
All Mountain Lion Hunts Start around November 15th (due to the elk hunting season), and run through the end of December.
Here at WFO, we have a 18 cat quota on the lands we hunt, therefore, limited spots are available! We can take up to two hunters at a time at the most, with each hunt guided on a one-on-one basis and with another houndsman,we work as a team to make it happen. We run all cats with hounds, which are owned by WFO.
Our Mountain Lion Hunters have enjoyed a whopping 99% Success Rate over the last 7 years! Unlike most of our hunts, during mountain lion season, hunters are provided with a hotel room in town instead of staying at the lodge and all meals are up to the hunter. Lion Hunters are picked up each morning from their hotel room and driven out to the hunting grounds where we hunt off of ATV’s or by 4 wheel drive truck.
WFO’s Bear Hunts are another favorite choice for our trophy hunters. Color phases of Wyoming Bears are absolutely stunning and range from black to blond to cinnamon colors.
September 1st opens Bear Hunting Season and runs until the State Quota is filled.
Approximately 10 sows per spring and 4 additional each fall are available.
Spring Bear Hunts start May 1st. May 1st to May 14th is open to Archery/Bow Hunters only.
May 15th to June 15th or until quota is reached, is open to both bow and rifle hunters.
Turkey Hunts are an excellent hunting option for new and seasoned hunters alike. All Turkey Hunts are 3 day hunts and open to Rifle, Shotgun and Bow hunters. Turkey feeders are used on all hunting lands with self timers which feed morning and evening, to keep turkeys in the area.
1 Turkey not enough? No problem, add an Extra Turkey to your hunt. Our hunters do it all the time.
April 1st is Opening Day for Spring Turkey Hunting Season with a 2 bird maximum and runs till May 20th.
Fall Turkey Season starts October 1st and goes until December 31st with a 2 bird maximum. Open to Rifle, Shotgun or Bow Hunters.
Turkey Rifle Hunts open October 1st and all hunters must be here by September 31st, no exceptions!
Please note that WFO’s Turkey Hunts do not include meals or lodging. If you’re interested in a WFO Turkey Hunt, call today for complete details and options on local area lodging. All of WFO’s Turkey Hunts are Handicap Accessible!
Prairie dogs are a pesky critter with golden brown fur, white or black tails, short legs and have clawed feet used for burrowing. Many landowners consider prairie dogs to be a major nuisance to cattle, livestock and farming, which is why we at WFO offer a one off Prairie Dog Hunt or the option to simply add prairie dogs to any of your upcoming hunting trips as part of our Spring Special. Call for details.
Did we mention, no hunting license is required? That’s right, no Wyoming Hunting license is required to shoot prairie dogs, so get started and add one to your upcoming hunt with WFO. You’ll be glad you did.
